Here is a email I got, getting sick of every time I post an ad,I get offers from scammers. Inbox Thanks for your mail.I am very happy to hear from you.
I just heard correspondence with Our Financier twenty munutes ago,She will be sending the money to you on or before next week
She has also made me to know that she is sending all the Money needed for this Transaction in a Single payment at once,,Which means that you will be recieving the money which is meant for the payment for the (item) and money for the shipping agent ,who are incharge of shipping the goods I asked her why She made me to understand that. That company policy does not allow issue of two cheques on one transaction. But only one cheque on one transaction.
I also wanted him to make payments to the shipping agent so that they will inturn Send you your Balance money form florida. But due to the fact that i wanted the money to get to you as soon as possible, and to show my Interest on the item that is why i told her to issue you all the Money,so that as soon as you recieve the money i will then alert the shipping agent ,so they can tell you the easy way for them to recieve thier money as soon as possible,so that they will be able to arrange with their branch office to come for the pick up .
So what you have to do is, as soon as you recieve the money you will send the Balance money to the shipping agent headquaters presently in US to anable them send informations to the Branch office to for the pick up
also have deduct an extra $100 for your stress of cashing and the cost of wiring the remaining funds to my shipper that same day you receive my payment. My SHIPPER will come for pick up on a specicified date that will be convenient for you. i hope i can count on you for my balance I ALSO WANT THIS TO BASE ON TRUST CAN I TRUST YOU?... i hope this is understandable and ok, i will also like you to feed me out with your details this includes.. FULL NAME:..... ADDRESS:..... CITY:..... STATE:..... . COUNTRY..... .. ZIP CODE:..... . PHONE NUMBER: (these includes both home and mobile number) i await your soonest reply to my mail.

Forward to local law for a laugh. Also a couple times the law has caught some people in US acting as receivers of money- article couple months back CNN(?) about some illegal immigrants doing money laundry on this type of scam- the shipping agents- Immigration and Homeland Security caught some and were prosecuting and getting info. Don't feel special, you're not the only one who gets emails like that. They are simple enough to delete.

SOME folks find them FUN:

Isn't it amazing how some of us go to work and earn a meeger paycheck..And others wake up in the morning wondering how to screw someone else out of everything they have worked for...I guess it's easier that way...I ran into a bottom feeder like that a few years ago...Only because he was a local did I get even..On the other hand, someone from another country pulling sh*t like that..You just can't get ahead...We just hope the people here have enough sense to see through the scams....If it doesn't sound right.....Stay clear of the deal..... ...

You have to wonder just how dumb a person has to be to fall for one of these scams.

My guess , Walt , would be more along the lines of GREEDY and/or DESPERATE rather than dumb. I say this because anyone falling for this must have something he wants to "dump" pretty desperately. Sometimes these "scams' work both ways.
