Yes Sir,

You can now have your long axles back. They finally gave up and let go. :>)

'Nother bonus is that I don't have to loose my plow stance that I was so darned worried about. Think they are gonna fit with a full 1/2 inch to spare.

Those jokers were tight!

Say, anyone happen to know what a new 3/4" ratchet would cost a guy nowadays? :>)

Just kinda curious, did yo0u put those eyes on there for clamp on's or did they come on that tractor? Kinda redundant to have those eyes for clamp ons when it had hub mounts on it...

I had to remove the hubs on my 1600 so I could move them in to narrow it up. I had no choice but to put the rose bud to it and heat them up. I only lost 1 to mucked up threads, the others finally gave in and came out. The nuts weren't tight, the u bolts were just rusted inside the hubs after 40+ years.

Don those were on there.

Someone had clamp-ons on there somewhere along the line.

Allan wants the rings for another tractor so he is going to take them off to keep.

I don't need them.

Geeze, doncha think it'd be easier to just get his 966 instead of swapping everything?

j/k- I guess if I could get someone to customize a tractor without myself having to touch it, what the heck.... Kinda saw the whole cab thing coming though, once he got the first one he just has to have another.... Something about the cold & snow..... .

Like I've said before, I'd rather take a beatin' in a cowboy bar than put any heat at all to a tractor.

I had stopped at the tire shop and asked what they would charge me to come out here and use their 1" impact on 'em. Guy instead sold me a can of juice that he claimed was the best in the world. Said if that didn't work, then he'd shoot the truck this way but felt the juice would do the trick.

So, anyways after a week of soakin', they finally busted loose without the heat. Don't think I've ever worked with 1" bolts before. :>(

Oh,

Like a dummy, I didn't even think and put the cheater on the ratchet right off the bat. Just didn't think that they'd end up being this tight and I wrung that stub off the ratchet first thing.

I've had 'em soakin' with panther juice for a week, but today they finally gave up the fight. Whew!
