So 18 of us gathered on Christmas Eve. 11 adults, 7 kids(from 20 months to 10 years)....

My Mother-in-laws side(including me) was heathly as a Horse. Her husbands(Step-Father-in-law) side not so much.

Now... 5 people, My 3 year old daughter, my 62 year old mother, me, my 2 brother inlaws, have been down for 2 days. Coming from both ends if you know what I mean...

You rarely think about feeling good and the taste of food, until you are without both for 2 days....

Why would someone bring a highly infectious illness to a family gathering??? You really couldn't miss this illness. I just do not understand some people....

Got your email at home here, nice to hear from such a cheerful, positive guy. And thanks for the heads up about your company policy about sick days, I don't think I wanna work for you. However, I would suggest you post some of the "wash your hands before leaving" posters in the washroom at work, it has been documented that it is through this type of contact that germs are spread, not through runny noses etc.

I do not disagree with washing hands, get off your soap box. My hands could be sterile, but if I grab something a germ ridden inlaw just touched I will get what they had....

My point is all 6 got sick at the same time, the only time all 6 of us were together was at christmas. If you know anything about incubation periods, we were all exposed at the same time.

I agree but what we often fail to acknowledge is that ALL OF US are germ-ridden, and that includes those without sniffles and coughs. In other words, we ALL (including your and I) carry and spread germs which cause discomfort to others.

Yes but since 'We all', the 6 of us, got the germs at the exact same time(due to showing symptoms within hours of each other) we were all exposed at the same time. Most likely by an outside source. Agree? Thus my most likely but not guaranteed conclusion of , The In-laws....

Your argument is of course probably but not indisputable. Legally it would fall apart in a courtroom. Do you have bonafide video of all the hacking and coughing? Maybe you and I should go back to school and become lawyers, whadaya think? It might be one of the all-time great courtroom classics and would be called the "cough and runny nose case". Meanwhile, what kind of tractors do you have?

Criminal: beyond a reasonable doubt.

Civil: a perponderence(sp?) of the evidence.

I would take to civil court burden of proof is less.

I have a JD3010D. want to upgrade to 4010D if I can do it for less than 1000.

How bout you?(since you have to have the last word)....:)

Those first three statements and definitions are definitely intimidating. No JD's here but a lot of smaller and older stuff, a MH 101 Jr, a Case V,
a MH 20, an Avery A, and an Allis B. I rest my case. The jury will decide. Meanwhile, I hope everyone is feeling better. As for myself, I feel a cold coming on ..... have a prosperous 2007!

Christmas, weddings and family reunions. It's that opportunity a few times every year to be reminded. You can't choose your family but you can pick your friends.

There is no way to get out of going to a family gathering especially if its with the inlaws. I swear thqt if the ambulance had to come and get me I'd still have to go

Yesiree Joe, every little cold and sniffle you've ever had resulted in you staying away from work for 5 days right? I've worked with guys like you. I would suggest rather than blaming your inlaws (or outlaws) that all of you start washing your hands before using the toilet. That's the best way to avoid germs. Pointing fingers at someone who has a runny nose is a bit adolescent I think. Remember Joe, wash those filthy hands of yours when you leave the crapper.

Doc sez the best way to avoid a cold is wash your hands. The second best way to avoid a cold is wash your hands again. The third best .....

Took a flight to Spokane Washinton two weeks ago and a guy two rows away was snorting and snotting the whole way. Another two were hacking away and the worst was the lady next to me who stunk like only a nasty women can. It should be mandatory to take a bath the day of a close encounters with other human beings. And it should be mandatory to take medicine to dry you up and stop the hacking before entering public space. I went to the doctor today and got a pnemonia vaccination. I had to almost beg for it because I'm not a candidate. I don't want to pull a James Brown because some slob neglects his own health and higene. Hope you are getting back to normal. And for the rest Benedrill will dry you up at the beginning of a cold and sudafed will clear you up a few days latter and help you avoid sinus infection. Zicam up the nose at the beginning of illness is pure majic. Us frequent fliers all sware by it.
Zicam stays in my laptop bag for the fist signs of a cold or if I've been exposed to a slobs mucus. It really works well. ZICAM.

Heck you can tell that stuff is working for days.
I can't understand why people would use so much of it. If they ban it I'll stock up. The google surch also turned up info on oral zinc tabs. ZMA is a formula with magnesium. It's great for your man parts. I'll stick by Zicam because it stops colds in 1-3 day flat. Just wont use too much.

My G** D*** sister in law has done that to us a couple times. Her son is sick as a dog and brings it to family gatherings and give it to my two boys. I think she finally got the picture when I called the morning of a couple family gatherings and asked her if anyone was sick.
