Do you guys enjoy listening to a recording telling you which extension number to call?

I get tired of waitng to hear the number to dial.

The one I want is always last.

Then they don't answer and I hang up and start all over again.

Simply question that anyone can answer that works there but no one will talk to me.

Called 2 business this morning and ended up talking to no one.

Then they say they will call back and half the time that doesn't happen either, so I call again and it circle goes on.

I get answers here quicker and no one is paid or on duty to do it.

Thanks for listening. Gary

I used to install those systems and hated them too. We called them "B*tch in a Box".

I read that a lot of times if you press 0 as fast as you can multiple times it screws up their computer and will transfer you to a real receptionist.

I prefer to go through and pick whichever option I think will get me to a person the fastest and then hopefully they'll be able to transfer me to the person I really need to speak to. tractorsam

Sometimes you are better off to just punch the numbers and talk to a machine. The machine just might be more intelligent than the real live human.
Case in point. The modem died in this computer shortly after it was new. I could not connect to the internet, so I put in a call to Gateway. After an honest 6 hours of trying to get through, I finally got a real live person on the other end. I told that young gal that the modem was dead, I could not connect to the internet, and I wanted to order a new modem. She proceeded to inform me that I could easily order that part on-line. I imagine her ears are still burning.

We are moving into more of a service economy all the time and getting less service as we go....

If you press 0 you somtimes get directed to a human receptionist. Most of the time they will get you to the best person.

Hello IaGary,

I know it's irritating to say the least, but point is "they" don't want you to call them, that is unless you want to buy something,or order something, then it seems one can speak to a real person rather quickly.

Remember when one could call and even though you might be on "hold" for a a few seconds at least you could speak to a real person?....

Seems those days are gone..... sigh ....
