Yes, some French people take advantage of others, just like Americans. Without French assistance, we probably would have lost the Revolutionary war. The French gave us the Statue of Liberty because they respected us as a beacon of freedom. They sold us the Louisiana territory for much less than it was worth; had they kept it, our nations growth would have stopped short. Our Anglo-Saxon heritage can be traced back to France via Great Britain. The French did not want to get involved in Iraq, which seems to have been a very sound decision. The French did some of the preliminary excavation for the Panama Canal before they gave up, saving us money and time. Every nation has rude citizens who take advantage of others and the U.S. is one of them. Lets stick to tractors. I understand the caution about a scam; I have similar concerns because of some of his English. Time will tell, but be civil.

My two weeks four years ago in France was most pleasant. Many expressed concern because of 9-11. People in the U.S. who are so quick to berate the French, may not know what they did for us during the Revolutionary War. We owe them.

Hey Marty Jean Pierre, Us farm people are a little on edge over here with all the scams happening to the trusting rural families. So why don't you tell us about yourself. What do you do over there? What kind of farming do you do? Do you have livestock, raise grain, baled hay? How big is your farm? A nice description of your place would be nice. We will decipher your english i'm sure.!!!!!

I like to give every one a chance.

Take Care

Farmer

I had the good fortune to work on a farm in France while in college. French farmers are like farmers everywhere, a mixed bunch. Some good some bad and a lot in between. If someone is interested in old tractors we should welcome them on here.

Uh, better ease up on the eggnog there bud. His I.P. address show him to be in Toulouse, France. You got any junk yards over there in Hamilton that might have a carb for a Titan?

That was uncalled for. Just because someone's english is not so good does not automatically make him a scammer. He says he's looking for a carburetor for a Titan. If you don't happen to have one, then you risk nothing by being courteous. In fact you don't have to respond at all.

I'll also say that Marty's english is no worse than half the english-speaking posters on this forum.

Uncalled for? You wound't say that if you have been to France. Those miserable people treat Americans worse than dogs except for the few seconds they beleve you may spend a little cash with them. Now he needs us so he is OK? Only because he likes old tractors am I being this nice. When is the last time a Frenchmen has done anything for an American that did't line his pocket. He needs help to make money on sombody else. Sorry if he is the one in a billion exception but I can't even imagine that from my experience.

Stumpalump, you are out of line here in tractors. There is another place where you can vent your feelings.

Coloken,
You are right. I am sorry this is out of place but after they way those people treated me I will never ever ever pass an oportunity to slam those Scumbags. Personal or buisness I will stand against those that treat us like crap even if out of place! These people burn Americans any way they can. Give them the chance and you will be next.

Well, so much for "Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men". Not even 12 hrs after Christmas and...???

Under posting guidelines on this website, the 2nd one says "At all times treat others with courtesy and respect".
