Just wanted to know if I should be using a ORC with my JDM?
Would it depend on the Implement?

Thanks

The answer is YES to both questions. You do not have live PTO on your M, so when the PTO is engaged, the tranny is in gear, and you push down on the clutch, your tranny and PTO are connected - and free from the engine.

The BIG DEAL is when you operate a bush hog, or other PTO implement with a lot of kinetic energy. If you need to stop suddenly, when you push in the clutch, the momentum of the mower continues to drive the transmission (and the tractor)for several feet - right through the fence, or inot the side of the barn. With an ORC, the PTO spins, and does NOT drive the tranny, so you are able to stop the tractor motion.

A PTO tree sprayer would be an implement where it would not be needed- but it still makes it easier to shift gears on the go.

You should consider an ORC with any implement with a lot of rotating inertia, such as rotary mowers and brush cutters and balers. The rotating mass can power the tractor into some unwanted situations.
Implements that stop quickly do not need them, such as cycle bar mowers and elevators and augers... Gene

OK thanks, that is just what I needed to know. I am going to run an auger this weekend, and just wanted to be sure I was safe. I also now know that when I bushhog this summer I will need an ORC.

will it be ok to use it regardless of the implement just to form a good habit?
