I have a NH 67 and a NH271 baler and the one is to far gone to fix but the other one the 271 can be fixed. I need to know if parts from the 67 can be used on the other one. They look to be very much the same but don't know for sure. Also does any body have a manual that can be down loaded so I will have an idea of how to fix this 271??
Thanks
I may have the model number wrong but I Know its a 2XX

Both parts manuals are on the CNH web site, I just looked, and many parts interchange. For example, gearbox and clutch prt #'s are the same on the pickup/feeder/knotter drive page.

Old, I've never heard of a 217 NH. Do you mean a 271 maybe? Please educate me if I am mistaken.

Knotter parts probably are the same.

It might be a 271, I've slept since I looked LOL. Either way it has a 2 to start and some how a 7 and a 1 in there also. I know the knotters and the arm that pushes the hay into the bale chamber look the same and for that matter if you just walk by them you would think they where the same model

Old, Hows the weather down around the lake? 46 Degrees and sunny here but the wind is blowing pretty hard, still not bad for dec. I used to have a 67 I doubt if very many parts will change but some of the notter parts might or maybe the whole assembly don't know for sure. Sometimes when a coulpe people post something it will draw more attention by others so maybe someone who knows will jump in. Brian

Cloudy and 43 degrees out here. Not very windy but raw out so I'm staying in the house till its time to do chores. I'd love to get this 217 up and running by spring so I can bale a few squares with it. I don't need to do many of them maybe 100 or so the rest will be done with the NH 850 round baler. But the way my 850 is that will only make maybe 2 or 3 less bales out of the 850 and I only do about 30-40 of them a year

Rusty Farmall is correct on the hitch pin and I would add the twine too, will interchange. :)
I agree with his serious part that New Holland does have a nice website, but not sure of old manuals there. Have you tried your local dealer? Sometimes they have an old manual laying around to sell. I got lucky like that on my NH 68.

Just tried there web site and didn't find any thing there for either one of the balers but I may not have either gone to the right site or the right place

Old, I think maybe the hitch pin might interchange between the two, don't really know about anything else. LOL(: Seriously, You might do a google search for "new holland". Seems like a lot of companies now have parts catalogs and such on-line. Might get lucky. Have a merry Christmas.
