Hi All -

I enjoyed seeing Glen's pics from down about 2 hours south of me.

Here are some pics from the ice storm in the Oklahoma Panhandle at Panhandle State University where I work.

The ice was over 1/2 inch thick on a lot of things. We were lucky there wasn't any wind with it.

Howard

Howard, I feel for you guys, we had the same thing come thought Illinois three weeks ago, over an inch of ice, then 7-10 inches of blowing snow on top of it. You guys be careful with that mess down there, is is not fun. there were people east of here without power for over a week in 5-15 degree weather. More poor service from Ameren Corp.

Looks just like the storm we had up here in Maine back in '98. People were without power for well over a month. Line crews came from all over the place to help out.

I remember walking around out side and listening to the tree breaking, sounded like explosions!

We were lucky. The power was out for just a few days. We also live in the open so there wasn't any damage to any of our buildings.

I know what you guys are going through, It was 2 year this coming Jan. 5 that we had the big Ice storm with an inch or more of ice here that paralized northwest Ohio for weeks. I was without power for a week and still do not have some of it back on and still a pile of downed limbs in front of the barn door that I can't get in that door. Also had a classic car, 1977 with less than 85,000 have the top caved in, someday I hope to be able to get it restored. The worst of it tho was my 80 year old uncle was one of the 4 people in my county that were killed with the ice.

WHAT a mess! in reply to Howard H., 12-21-2006 21:20:12
Up here in northern ND, we had some fog and drizzle about a week or 10 days ago, but we were luckier, as it quit before there was any damage, just making everything look "seasonal".
