We finally removed the oak tree that fell on our 1959 Ford 801. Here"s the tractor after we removed the tree trunk, dug out the front tires and pulled her out. This was my first tractor--bought back in 1981 near Brett Favre country in Mississippi. Additional photos in the stuck & troubled section--I haven"t learned how to post multiple photos. If anyone can help us out on some parts, I"d be grateful. I"ll post on the Ford side too. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

It looks like things could be worse. With any luck, your engine will be OK and it doesn't look like the steering area or the SOS controls were hit. I would disassemble the tin to see just what you need. If the engine and SOS were OK before the tractor got hit, they probably are OK now unless the impact broke housings.

It looks like you need a diesel tank and the front tin and possibly the tank heat shield and rocker cover. Hopefully the injection pump was not hit--that could be really bad and expensive to fix. The tank could be a problem to find. I don't know if a gasoline tank could be made to work, but I would hunt for a diesel tank. The tin should be fairly easy to find. Maybe the radiator survived, but I would never get that lucky.

I like your air cleaner setup, which also looks like it came through fine. My guess is that replacing it would be very tough, but unless there is damage I can't see, yours is probably OK.

Good luck fixing it back up. If you decide to part it out, I might be very interested in that air cleaner.

I guess if it was going to hit your tractor it fell in a good place. Looks like you might get by with a hood and a tank, maybe a valve cover. radiator may be ok from the looks of the damage. Must have been a large tree. I still hate to see that kind of damage, glad no one was hurt. You now have a winter project. Stan

I was in Gulfport in Sept. to visit my son who is stationed at the Seabee base. I was impressed by how the community was pulling together getting all the work done. I enjoyed my stay there and i am thinking about making the drive again next year. Oh and good luck with the Ford.
