I have a 1965 530d case ck backhoe .I'm looking at getting a 1968 580 backhoe. What are the differences between the two if any.I know the 580 has two less control levers for the hoe( more what I'm used to).

I have had both. and if you can afford it, trade up to a 580C or later. they are much easier to work on and have more power both in the hoe and loader. the C model is componets put together. you can have the transaxel and transmissiom out on the ground to work on in 2hrs. the 580 takes 2 days. all of the hoses are much easier to get to on the C. if you get an extenda hoe, it had more power than the B. each series newer get better boyh to work on and in power.
