Does anyone know if the axle size is the same on a 1066 as a 1086?

I might get started on that ROPS if I can start measuring here at home.

Gary,
The '76 1066's axle housings have the '86 series cab mounts already cast into them. However, my 1086 has 3 1/2" axles, while my 1066 has 3 1/4" axles. The 1466 and the 1486 both have 3 1/2" axles. The 1066 is the same as my 966 and 826 at 3 1/4".

On an unrelated note, is that a gas 560 you are grinding with? I hated having to use the 560, as soon as that engine lost any rpm, it fell on its face. I went back to my M on the Gehl 65. It takes a little longer, but, I don't have to clean the hammermill out after the tractor dies!

Thanks Eric.

I knew the axle itself is larger on the 1086Than the 1066.

The housing is what I wondered about and you answered that also.

Yes its a gas 560.

It holds in there fairly well on the rpms after a little adjusting on the fuel screw.

But it runs a little rich at an idle.

As far as i can tell the axle housings are the same size, width, thickness and length. here are some pics of a 1066 and a 1086. Have Allan double check the width of the floorboard. as far as i can tell the only difference is were the 1086 cab mounts on.
