There is an item that I would like to bid on ,but when I try to log on, the message says improper password.Thought I did , but maybe I don't remember my password. Followed the instructions, but get no reply from them(2 times).Tried to log on as new account, but it won't accept my try.Any chance I have been banned? Never bought anything before there that I know of.Only tried to bid one other time.Maybe I messed that up? Any suggestions?

I had the same problem almost 2 weeks ago. I had my password printed out, so that I had it as a reference. But it failed, and when I tried to create a new one, it didn't let me. I emailed ebay, ebay referred me to paypal. About 2 days later, I get an email that ebay was having system problems and some customers were having problems with checkout. 4 days after this started, I get an email from paypal that I don't have an ID. I didn't fool with it, but then 12 days later, I get another email from paypal, that I DO have an ID, and sorry for the inconveince? When I find a problem, usually the simplist answer is usually the most correct: Maybe paypal is just overloaded at this time of the year. I have used it in the past, and never had a problem, so it probably works most of the time, otherwise they wouldn't be in business. I find the response time really poor tho. I would expect emails and problem followup a lot quicker. Oh well, it might save my cc from some abuse!!!

Never heard of any one being baned. They may be, no I am sure, they are over loaded this week. Are they in the North West where all the power lines are down? No reason why it shouldn't let you register as a new name/password. Suggestions are to do the usual things with password--are your CAP key on? Did you use the right login name? etc. I have a "code" book cause I have so many password.. if Mozilla did not remember them, I would have to look them up a dozen times a day.

Naw,

Doubt if you've been banned.

Ya gotta remember that while using ebay, you aren't dealing with people. It's a machine; just a darned computer which serves much as an online vending machine.

I'd think there is probably something wrong with your ID or password.

Allan
