Sheep question - we have 3 little dwarf goats. With horns - friendly little guys. I am thinking of getting a few sheep as a spinning flock for my wife. Do you think the sheep would get along with the goats? Should I get some horned sheep? - Kinda make sure everybody has the same weapons idea?

As long as they're not crowded into too small an area, they'll be fine.

You might want to look into one of the smaller breeds of sheep. Some of the big ones can go 200 or 300 pounds. That's a lot to handle when vetting or shearing.

Mine are Shetlands, big ram might go 125. Excellent spinning wool too.

Well, we too have Shetlands, and also 4 Angora goats. Seem to get along pretty well. Male and neutered male sheep get pretty rough on each other especially this time of year, mating season and all. Theirs is a search for dominance and supremacy. Goats seem to stay pretty clear of it all. Apparently the sheep don"t think of them as a serious threat, and goats are pretty clever at staying out of the bigger sheep"s way.

I'm not Fawteen, nor a Master of Sheep, but I wouldn't think they'd have a problem together. The only thing I can think of is the goats getting bullied at the feeder because they're smaller. I dunno. I can't imagine any brawls though. Good luck. If you and your wife need some ideas in choosing a breed for their wool, draw me an email. My mom could probably point you in the right direction.
