I would like to try and find out some of the following info:
Model#
Year
HP
3ptl lift capacity
Operating & repair information.

Any suggested web sites or links with further info.

I can email photos if it helps?

Thanks in advance

Paul

U can get manuals in Oz for the Nuffield Universals.

Paul,

If it is a Nuffield Universal with a Simms injection pump that should indicate that the engine is BMC own engine and Not the Perkins P4 used previously. The first BMC engines were used in the 1954 model year and the tractor was discontinued in 1961 (when the 4/60 and 3/42 were released) The Perkins engined Universal 4 was rated at 38hp, while the BMC engined model was rated ar 40hp. The serial numbers should be on a brass plate located on the right hand frame rail alongside the engine (as you look forward from the seat). Starting in 1954 the hydraulic oil pump should put out 2000psi, prior it was only a 1000psi pump. I"m not sure what it would lift. The tractor was built at Drews Lane in Birmingham.

Another link that may help...

hope this helps, oj
