I was shutting down my computor the other day, and a message came up, saying something like; someone else is logged on to your computor are you sure you want to continue. What does this mean? Is someone spying on me. Stan

Mine used to do that. Evidentally I had Windows Messenger installed in AOL file directory and in the main directory too. The AOL version was set to open when I logged in. It would send me that messege whenever I opened the other version (since the AOL one was so deep into the file system I never could find it).

Probably the message you saw was this "others may be logged into this computer, do you want to continue shutting down?" I get the same thing, depending on how I go about shutting down. It is a "windows" thing to prevent you from disconnecting other users if you are on a network, not the internet. If you are not on a network, you can ignore it.

It sounds like the computer was logged on under two different accounts (assuming XP) if not, I am not sure. I am a firm believer in spybot s&d and ad-aware. I find all sorts of stuff on my home 'puter this way.

Not to hijack a thread, but I had my feet on the desk a few days ago and bumped the keyboard. Everything is huge now. What keystokes did I hit and how can I fix it? TIA

Aaron,

On my Windows XP system, if I hold down the Control key and roll the wheel on the mouse, it will make the print on the display larger or smaller depending on which way I roll the wheel on the mouse.

You might try that. Good luck.

It can also mean, if you have a small network, that you have created "shared folders" and someone was recently using one of these folders on another computer.

Usually that will be seen if you have two or more accounts on the comp. When you load up your comp, on the log in screen, is there two accounts to choose from? Assuming you're running XP.
