Well , I tried the truck forum at the bottom of YT..No Hits yet....I've got a 1965 W300M Dodge Power Wagon [ looks like a '49 ]..About 7 years ago I took the brakes apart..Being the mental midget that I am , I forgot how the cylinders go back on....The pistons are 2 different sizes..Does the larger diameter go to the front or back shoe ?? I would like to be able to drive this animal to the car shows this coming year , maybe ?? maybe another 7 years..Thanks...

Hi Roy. Sorry I just found your post, I have been in the hospital for a few days. Stomach was hurting so bad I went to the ER Monday night and got home Wedsesday afternoon. ER Doctor said he had never seen anbodies belly with so much air in it. On those wheel cylinders, the large bore, cup, goes to the rear. I didn't know they were made with two sizes in one cylinder untill I looked it up. That is one Dodge I never worked on. Hope this helps. Good luck with it. Charley.

The following shoe does most of the work so it woulds use the large piston.

So by that depending on where the cyl is located....

look at the wheel cyl and envision the expanding shoes in comparason to drum rotation....

so coming out of the wheel cyl. in a direction of drum rotation the small piston pushes against a shoe (leading shoe) through the adjuster through the next shoe (following shoe)and back to the second piston, into the cyl. whick would be the bigger one.

Also if applicable the following shoe might have a larger area of friction material.

yeah, was just a joke.. if I bought I dodge though it would be a power wagone, but for now I"ll stick with my 73" F-250
and I would say even a rusted out power wagone would be worth AT LEAST $500, if not more.. Tim Shultz
