Think you would like to see, how some german farmers are harvesting their wheat. Yes we have modern Claas, Deutz-Fahr and JD combines here to.
but this is also usual.

I was stationed in Augsburg Germany back in 1969-1971 and was fascinated by the farm machinery i saw in use around there. This was in Bavaria and the machnes were fairly small and compact. I tooka trip up north and saw where they really farmed bith a lot bigger stuff.

Bernard, How wide is the swath the combine cuts? How much is a typical yield? Is this wheat planted in the spring or fall? Is it feed to livestock or made into flour for human consumption? Thank you.

Swath is around 2,10. Combine is a Fahr M 66 TS.
Yields? Not sure, would say 1, maybe 2 ha.
We only do winterwheat and winterbarley down here in midlands. The corn is taken to the Coop, which will selling it.

Cool! I have alot of memories about those pull type combines. I used to have to ride the platform of the one we had to make sure the reel turned good and watched for anything going bad. It was dusty and usually cold but when your like 12 it sure was fun :)
