Hi Guys,

The power company came out yesterday, put in a new underground service, a yard light and got rid of all those darned overhead wires that I was so worried about. Spent the last two days wiring the outbuildings with new service boxes.

When we bought the place, I had said it would take 5 years to straighten out this old farm; better hurry up, only got three years to go. :>(

Farmstead sets right square on a large gravel pile, so now after doing all this underground trenching, I've learned if the yard needs a little gravel, all I gotta do is take a stick and stir the pot a little. :>)

Maybe if the wife ever gets done with that remodeling project she's got going on, I'll be able to take a bull dozer to that old shed. What an eyesore! That thing has just got to come down. :>(

Anyways, for today, no more wires!

Allan

Aloha Allan, What happened to all the snow that was on your tractor? Was that an old picture or did it all melt?

Mahalo,

In the seventies here today; that was last year's wintering of the tractors in that picture.

If I didn't have cows out running on the alfalfa fields, think I'd be out there turning some dirt.

Neighbor has been discing for two days now. Feels like summer without the green aura. :>)

Well,

I had to put in some hours to get it all switched over because i didn't want the juice just laying in those buildings "hot" and open-ended.

Carpenters needed juice in that old house to run their equipment and the critters needed their water, so I just kept going until it was all done.

Still havent got my welder moved up here yet. :>(

Why were you worried about the overhead wires? I must have missed that post.

Do they cause problems with your satellite dishes? Will you be transferring all your dishes to the farmhouse roof some day?

Yeah, probably next spring sometime.

I was forever worrying about those lines and the loader tractors. Just didn't wanna cook myself. :>)

Big problem is the multiple phone lines that run around the clock. Before we bought the farm, I made darned sure that the phone company could get our phone banks piped out there in the wilderness. They assured us that they could..... ..... ...Maybe I should have got it in writing? :>(

The dishes are going to planted on a cement pad on the ground. I'm done climbing up on the roof during the snows. :>)

Allen, I'm not trying to be nosey but I take it that you don't actually live on the farm, Some of your pictures show a house thats in the woods. I guess your moving out to the farm.

Yes Sir,

I live way up in the hills.

Really doesn't matter 6 eggs to me, but my wife wants to be out on the farm closer to the animals, so guess that's what we're gonna do.
