Spent Veterans day looking at a bunch of veteran tractors. What a Show!!! I have been to 6 shows this this year and by and far the best yestewrday at Cumming GA. Cumming is the proud home of abouit 20 Steam tractors most stored on the Fairgrounds in a special shed Also had several hundred tractors of all kinds includuing that rare MM that looks like an automobile and had a 40 MPH road gear. What a show. Went to Asheville show several weeks ago and that was a tererible show. A few tractors scatterd in amongst hundreds of flea market vendors. Worst I have ever seen. BUT YESTERDAY WAS A GREAT DAY.

The Asheville show sometimes billed as being at Horseshoe??? across from the airport on rt US26. is what we are talking about. Drove 260 miles rountrip and only stayed for 3 hours. The nonpullers there were only about 25. Even the pullers there were few and far between. Never saw such a mess of junk and I mean junk. If the gathering of the Orange is there it will not be worth an 800 mile drive, you can bet on it. More golf cart riders than tractors.

Which show are you talking about in Asheville? THe Gathering of the Orange is supposed to be there next year. I would hate to drive 800 miles for a junk meet.

I think its the same one. I have heard the Gathering Of The Orange was coming, but I thought it was this year.Trust me, its not worth the drive, to me anyways! It was good about 10 years ago, but now one whole area which is the biggest area of the show, is nothing but a flea market. Now there are some good vendors there selling some good stuff, but too many "junkies" for me.

My biggest disappointment with some of the folks hosting the Gathering of the Orange is that they didn't have a clue, or wouldn't believe, what was coming. Set aside an area large enough for 100 tractors and 400 show up. Prepare to have 5000 people to see the show and get 10,000. Just harping a little, but there have been a few disappointments.
