A gentleman showed up yesterday to look at the WD I have for sale. Yep he wanted it and had me call the U-haul place to see what a trailer would cost. He came from Colorado somewhere around Pueblo I think. Said he had a farm up around Lisco, Nebraska. Anyway he wanted to write a check and when I told him we could go to town and he could get cash or a certified check he was out of here. Just about that fast. I am so glad I didn't take that check.

Around here (Kansas City) there was a guy going around buying cars for sale by owner and paying for them with phony Cashier's Checks and Money Orders. Cash talks, BS walks.

Take COD nothing else, there have been a few bogas Cashiers checks Not worth the paper printed on going around .If you deposit an out of state check in most local banks you have to wait 7 to 14 days for it to clear . They could travel a long way in that time .

I drove several hours to pick up my tractor. The first stop I made was at the bank to pick up cold hard green american cash. I wasn't totally sure I wanted the tractor or could haul it home with the trailer I brought. I also brought some extra cash for possible add-ons that had not been discussed. Blades, scoops, tools, etc...

And I am world renowned as a tight a$$....

You made the right choice,

Aaron

Take his check. Don't let him take the tractor till it clears. If the check is NSF which is the same as NFG, the bank will charge him an NSF charge. Usually 20 or $25. Dave
