Might try a 8 volt battery,in place of the 6v. We used them in some of our 6v.tractors,and they worked good. You'd have too check on availably.

THE M farmall requires a group (3). in a (6 volt) it has some where around 900 amp.THE group 2 or 1 just isn't big enought for this tractors.

all mine roll over slow that have 6v batteries in em. the 12v ones spin like the dickens. the old letter series did have crank starters, and you would give em half a spin and they should start. course i think the farmers were a lot stronger back then. i can start my cub, b, and h with the crank, but the m and w-9....whew you need big arms.

You may be on the right track, but before changing batterys I would check the wire gauge on the battery cables and all connections. My 6 volt systems turn over good in warm weather and slow in cold. Old WD starts right up in summer, wont fire in winter. Think that may be plug/coil wires but it turns over slow. Bob
