I gotta start goin oughta town to buy engines, they sound cheaper! Here in south florida a 350 out of a car (iron crank) will bring 250 if its a good runner, used to be all the gm truck V8's had steel crank whether 2 bolt or 4 If thats the case with yours it would bring another 100 then you could add for any accessorys it might have, start/alt/ac.comp/PS.pump, etc...

Tim look on the back of block where it bolt up to the bellhousing, should be a cast number there. If the # has 010 as starting #'s then it is a 4-bolt main block, with double roller timing chain and matching upper and lower gears. Also should have heavier con rods and steel forged crankshaft.

"Core" 350 CI, 4-bolt main short block in my area is around $350.00.

Bought one out of a 82 Chevy truck a couple months ago to put in my grandsons Camaro. It runs real good and suppose to have about 80,000 on it, no smoking, good oil pressure, and gave $150 for it. The old long block will bring $125 here, and it is a trading car for him so not a bad price to warm up the car before he gets rid of it.

Get the numbers off it and do a google search chevy motor numbers.Best case four bolt main from a Chevelle SS could be 350 to 400.Since you know what it came from thats not gonna happen so the 150 to maybe 200 range the other guys said. You are talking about the most popular[and therefore common]powerplant in the world. They have been put in everything from tractors to bikes.Boring to see in hot rods yet most used.Drag racers also dont care about four bolt mains anymore because if they blow a motor they just get another cheap one. Also how many times did you hear of the crank ripping out of a two bolt main motor?Best case scenario advertise it in a racing paper for 300 and a guy will buy it for his street stock Camaro for 200 after talking the price down.Im talking regional prices that I know for my area.

An angine that is naturally aspirated as the '75 350 would be is not worth a lot. As the other 2 have stated, maybe 50-100.00. Now the thing about it is, though, if it is out of a truck, it might possibly have 4 bolt mains, and that would give it a little value if you were looking to sell this engine, but as for buying it, 50-100.00 tops, their probably is not a lot of life left in it.

The 75 350's I had, all had oil burning problems. Pulled the last one at 60,000. Not to mention the lack of valve guides and blue smoke at start up. Might not apply to all of them.

The remanufacturer here was paying $150 for loose complete long block cores for 4-bolt 350s last time I sold, a good runner would bring $250 here anyday.

Tim,

As usual, Rusty hit 'er right on the head. Your engine is worth $100.

Depending on how the truck was driven and cared for, 80,000 miles might be getting real close to the life expectancy of a 350. In any case, I wouldn't expect to get much more than about another 20 to 30,000 out of it. I would think the value would not be much more than $100 to $150.
