Well I got up this morning and got the last 5 bales baled. I did manage to wind about 500 ft of twine into the center of the pickup on the first bale!

I have about another 10 acres to mow and bale yet. I hope I can get time to knock it down this week, we'll see..

I should have enough to make it through the winter now, but it would be nice to have some more...just in case..

Rob

Know what you mean Rob. I was born and raised around Oakland, northwest of you a little, and you can't have too much hay going into an Iowa winter. I also know what you mean about the twine. This old manual tie 845 chainer I got turned loose of twine when I started a roll this summer and I ended up with a bale of twine wrapped with a little hay. Oh well, that'll teach me to look forward when I'm baling. Harley

Try winding about a half a ball of twine around the pto shaft on an older Vermeer/Massey Fergesen. Pays to always have knive. Sharp is even better.

Harley:

I ran the baler with my 560D today and last night. It ran the baler great, but I did discover that she likes to drink oil when it is being used. It has been so long 15 yrs?? since this tractor was worked that I am hoping that will clear up. It hasn't used much oil when fencing for the last couple of months.

I need to post a pic of the 560 with the brand new post driver on it. (driver is worth more than the tractor)hopefully I can get that done tonight.

How is that new 706 of yours running??

Rob

Oh it's running fine. Just won't stop. After baling this fall, one day it took a notion to just keep going, forward or backward, whichever gear it's in at the time. Ya push in on the clutch and it won't stop. Have to kill it to get it out of gear. Guess it's the clutch. Later on this winter I'll take the inspection cover off the bottom and see if I can see anything. Probably got a splitting job coming up.

Doesn't sound like fun... I have to split my 856 for a clutch this winter... I feel your pain.
