The AC came off now huh? Thought for a sec you were going to enter and exit thru the top sky hatch with a ejection seat lol. Not enough room to hinge lower door inward like the old Egging cabs made up there? Might check around for some thick but lightweight lexan plastic if you got any military surplus places close? It's tough and ridgid but lightweight and would keep weather out.

Allan:

Looks good. Will it still be just as easy to get the loader on and off? Did you figure out anything better with the door from yesterday's discussion, or are you just going to hang a piece of tarp?

Don't feel like you are running late on anything...It is Nov 4 and I am getting ready to go outside and hook on to my baler... CRP hay, but it is better for my heifers than a snowbank..

I think for feeding cattle in the winter a cab tractor is a requirement. A Feb morning at 10 below with a 20mph wind, that cab will feel great!!

Hope the weather holds for you so you can get that project done. I am trying to get a fan bought for the Year Around Cab on my 856 now. that wil make it slightly warmer in it this winter.

Rob

Yes,

I finally got that old rusted door hinge pulled apart this morning. Set the bottom up in the tractor thinking that maybe I could just bolt it up permanent and step over the thing.

However, after looking at it, I feel it would be better if I built a thick, flexable bottom half out of some heavy material I have. Would just make it easier to get in and out of that cab.

Still waiting on the local implement dealer. They are trying to find me the proper valve bank that will allow for two single acting and one double acting valves.

Right now I've got the grapple hooked into the tractor's hydraulic system. Just too darned slow! Gotta stay with the original PTO pump. :>)

If you section the bottom of the door on the same angle of the of the brace just slightly above the brace and set up an additional in-swinging hinge between the two sections, would the bottom two sections fold in as the door interferes with the brace as the door is swung out?

As others have suggested a stack valve could be put together custom tailored to any configuration you need, also you could put a joystick operator on the valves for the lift and bucket cylinders. You could also use remote operator handles if you desired.

A quick and dirty way would be just add a valve to run the grapple. You would need to buy a 20 GPM 4 way open center power beyond valve with a builtin relief valve. You could plumb this valve inline upstream of the present valve. You would need to set the relief valve on this unit to provide system relief and crank down the present relief valve on the old valve unit so that it does not operate.

After taking another look I don’t believe the sectioning at the brace angle would work I believe you would have to section and hinge it straight across at a point above where the high point of the door interferes with the brace when the cab door in open to it's maximum swing.

Prince has a set up where you use whatever end caps you need and add as many remotes as you need. I don't know any details but you may be able to get two single acting and one double acting valves and the right end caps, bolt it together and have just what you need. I supppose you could just use a 3 spool double acting valve and dump the other port back into the tank where you need the single action valves. That's what we used to do with the old dump rakes when we had them set up single acting.

Looking good.

I gotta ask--you got that big barn behind you, but you're working out in the cold?

Cold?

It was 23 when I went out there this morning. That's not bad at all. :>)

As long as there's no wind, I don't mind it. When the breeze comes up tho, it's kinda nasty.

Allan
