Hello,

i recently bought an AC tractor, sold as a D15. On the side of the tractor ther are the following numbers.

221088 02

AM4295-16
D-16

Its hard to say, by looking at the numbers on the tractor whether its a 16 or a 15 in the last 2 cases (AM4295-16 and D-16).

Is there someone who can tell me exactly if this tractor is a D-16 or a D-15 ? and if so, what year could it be ?

Thanks a lot for any help.

Jean

That would be correct. The numbers will be stamped into the flange, not cast. There will also be an engine serial number stamped into the engine block somewhere rearward of the carb, possibly behind the air hose.

I have been looking at the left side of the tractor for an hour and a half and all i found was on the motor the following number 14911616.

The only number starting with "D15" was on the right side of the tractor and its "D15 1"

Is it possible that the serial number has been removed ?

Here is a picture that should help. The serial number is located where the white tape is. Sometimes the stamping is pretty faint and you have to scrape and use some chalk rubbed on the area for it to show up. The engine number shows your tractor to have the 149 cubic inch engine. Later tractors had a 160 cubic inch engine.

Woaaawww !

I ran at my tractor with a flashlight after reading youre message and seeing the photo. Without the photo, i could never ever have found it. At the place where you said it was, there was wires, grease, oil, and an unaccountable number of layers of paint...it took me half an hour to carefully removed all that stuff.

And the surprise was that the number i saw was :

" D 14 11487 "

Thanks a lot to you all who helped me, specially to Mr. John

It is greatly appreciated, without youre help, i never could have found the serial number, that is absolutly sure

I am a bit prefectionist and i wanted to know exactly what i bought ! I have a good idea why the seller told me it was a D-15...

Salutations and thanks again.
