Is the Cub Cadet GT2550 a good lawn mower. I want to replace my old 42" mower with something that will get the job done a little faster, I cut about an acre. Which JD mower will be similar to the GT2550.
Thanks, Homer B in NC

I am not familiar with that model, but I bought a CC 2180 3 years ago and it has done me a real good job, no problems yet. The 2000 series has the shaft drive to the hydro, but is not as heavy of tractor as the old Cadets were. They do a good job of mowing, at least mine does.

Thank RAW,
Does your CC2180 have the shaft drive for the power train with a clutch on the front of the engine for the deck drive? The way the belt has to turn in two directions is the thing that concerns me most.
Thanks Homer
