I have a 2950 MFWD with cab and loader and use it very often for baling round bales and moving them. I wouldn"t call it easy shifting but it runs great and loader works well.

I use a NH664 baler and depending on what size round baler you are getting or have I wouldn"t recomment using any of the smaller tractors. We have some hills here in KY and if you are baling up hill with a 5 x 6 or 6 x 6 round baler you will need all the HP that the 2940 or 2950 will give. If you are making smaller bales or have mostly flat ground than the smaller HP should do it.

I wouldn"t buy the tractor with the minimum HP you think you need though, you will be running it flat out all the time, go to the next bigger size.

I second that! I have a 2755 and 2550, both 4wd and I got them CHEAPER than a red or blue one.

Any of these tractors will work. The 2940 & 2950 are higher horsepower, would be worse on fuel and may cost more. The 2550 & 2555 would be excellent. I used to have a 2940 and loved it. Any you have listed would handle the job with ease...

Why do you want a JD? They're good tractors but you could get other equally good tractors for a lot less money and cheaper parts. Just curious. Dave
