My buddy, whose dad I bought the 48 M from, have been trying to diagnose why we get no fire. Went through the system and can by pass the fuel input from the regulator and run the engine on starter primer. Have propane to the regulator. Is there a rebuild kit or do I need to find another one? And from where? Strong old tractor, usually turns over quickly. Modified with power steering and a three point hitch. Use it primarily for shreding with a pull along. Appreciate any help.

Only open the vapor valve slowly and start on vapor. Opening valves too fast will slam shut the safety excess flow disc in valve. Only run on liquid after engine has warmed up enough. Brand? Enco, Ensign / Bosch or Zenith ?

Michael, First off... Try This....
One evening shut OFF both the Liquid & Vapor valves on the tank. Let set over night, Hope the valves Do Not Leak through.
Next day, Leave both valves OFF. Start cranking the engine over then....crack open the Vapor valve. If the engine starts up your Diaphrams are bad and you need a rebuild kit to correct it.
If the vaporizor is an Factory type set up then there is this fellow in Okla who makes rebuilt kits. If it is something else..... start calling ever LP supplier you can think of, or Irrigation engine specialist in your area. If Irrigation is not inn your local then then try Bucks Irrigations engines in Amarillo or Lubbock Texas.
Let me know it the engine starts after setting over night.I will sent that fellows name then. I won;t confuse the issue with too much info for now. Hope this thelps.
Later,
John A.

I've bought a lot of irrigation stuff from that Buck's outfit down there. Think the last engine I bought from him was a 403 Olds set up and ready to pump. Still have the thing.

Highern' a cat's back, but sure has good stuff.

what brand and model regulator does it have? Most have rebuild kits if not from the dealer them find a forklift repair place as alot of them run on propane. We had a 720 JD propane that the regulator went bad on, rebuilt it and it run fine. Post back and let us know what you find out.
