I am vacating one farm and must move out an old 1978 Cadillac.Been parked outside for years but seems fairly sound.I do not want to send it to be scrapped cause it may be restorable or at least have lots of good parts plus I think the engine is 488 to 500 CID.Located in area of Houston. Any suggestions where to advertize it.

great reading-- if you are looking for a real classic- I have a 67 eldorado only made 1/2 year 67 and 68 before it was changed-- only 3K since complete rehab-- been up on blocks for 8 yrs though-- would like to sell it along w/ 4 mercades (old) we have--- need room and getting to old to play with these anymore- still playing w/tractors antiques-- you should try the caddy clubs of america-- there might just be someone looking for those large motors- the 67 eldo has the last of the 429"s no polution great gas milage-- and not too bad torque pull on front rnd

If its an Eldorado it might be worth a little, in parts. If its any 4 door its probably only worth scrap value. Ebay is by far the best place to get rid of it.

You could put it on Ebay as just a parts car, much cheaper listing fee. Also, you might try putting it on Craigs List. They have a section just for Houston. The link is below. I have never listed anything on Craigs List so I'm not familiar with it or if there is a fee, but I think it's free.
BTW, what are you hoping to get for the Caddy?

If it is a 78 Eldorado, it will have a 500 cube engine. God only knows what the hp and torque is. The other Cadillacs of that year will have a 472.

Nope.The 78 ElDorado had a 425.
76 had a 500.

I could be wrong. I didn't start at Cadillac until 79. I do remember that the Eldo was a front wheel drive. We built the FWD for the Eldo and Toranado - an Olds. I haven't seen a Toranado in ages.
