That is probably where the new Honda plant is going in. It should employ 2000 people when it is done, not to mention all the construction jobs it is creating right now. I think it is going to be a good economic boom for our area. We could use it.

Yes, it's the new Honda plant, and yes it's going to help southeastern Indiana tremendously. I have heard everywhere from 1000-3000 people working directly at the plant and who knows how many support industries in the area. However, in general, the land that was bought for the plant is some of the best land in the area. Most of the land was owned by larger "corporate" farms because they had the money in the first place to buy the better land, then sold out to Honda easier. The other land in the area was not bought by the corporate farms because it was not as good farm ground. Honda saw that these farms are owned by people whose families had been on them for generations, and would not let go of them as cheaply. I'm glad for the economic boon to the area....I just absolutely hate to see all that beautiful ground being covered-up with concrete and asphalt. Just an observation and a humble opinion. Mike

We have a Honda plant near where I live, (Marysville Oh.) and I used to work for one of their suppliers. I don't really know anyone around here who does'nt like them, (Other than diehard UAW people) They've been good neighbors and people like working there.
