While sorting out my Grandmother's things she left behind. We ran across the picture of my Grandfather, the gent on the left.
Belived to be taken about 1910-20. Located in the woods at South end of our family farm.
Just a little bit of history.
Tks.

I recall my old man making a ditches like that with our 135. Problem was it wasn't ever on purpose and it normally took all the neighbors to get it out. Normal final question was something similar to "George, what were ya doin' down there anyway?"

I'd like to think I broke that family tradition.....

There are two large boxes of pictures. Most of them family pic's. Unknown relitives and a few of the house and buildings here.
Clay tile are no longer used. It's all plastic now.
I have, some where, pictures of the machine I had in the 80's.

Great picture, brings back a lot of memories!

Can't see for sure, but it looks like that ditcher is being powered by a steam engine or a very early tractor.

Other than being powered by a diesel engine, that setup looks identical to the rig that tiled our farm in Michigan when I was a kid. Would have been very late 50's or early 60's.

Do they still used the clay tile today?

Not to mention the tree roots are gonna plug up the tile in a few years. Unless they went in later and cleared it for field.

Yep I'd like to see that old picture too. In the mean time, clearing out my late uncles house about 4 years ago I found a registration card for his FIL's 1926 1 ton Ford truck and 1929 Whippet sedan. And they're almost in perfect condition. Can't post a pic of it though.
