Time to line up the winter blah projects. I have several this year. I rarely get a shiney pretty tractor. This one is in great shape though. Doug in IL Found her for me. 29 Allis 20-35. If I'm not side tracked it will be running smooth in a shiney Allis green and on rubber by early summer. (maybe).

Sounds like that clutch might be rusted to the flywheel[Fords are really bad for this] I clamp the clutch pedal down, put the trans in 1st or 2nd and tow a short distance if rusted should break loose. Worth a try.

It's sure good to see that tractor in nice surroundings. It looks so much better there than where I first saw it! Good Luck with it. And, yes, please post some pics as you progress.

Don't find many real werkin tractors that complete either.

That looks like a fun project. Someday I want to do a steel wheeler again. I have the stuff to do a wide-front H if I just had the gumption.

That tractor could be a lot of fun just the way it is, but would also be quite interesting all shined up. Be sure to take pictures as the work progresses.

Well I just found out last night from one of our esteemed mechanics on the site that that cheap 706D I brought home will probably need a clutch pretty soon, or sooner. Got it in gear yesterday and couldn't stop it. Pushed the clutch in and it just kept going. Had to kill it with the fuel lever to get it to quit. Probably not a good thing in a close situation. Sooooo o that means a split. Thank goodness for concrete shop floors. Harley

Before you split it, try taking the starter off and clamping the clutch pedal down- then, you should be able to work a blade between the clutch disk and the flywheel, rotating and "worrying" it until it comes loose.
