I see the post a while back about using the Petrogen cutting system.
Has anyone used this setup?
How well does it work for welding or brazing or soldering?
Certainly looks like a good deal, but how good is it really?
Just curious.

Jon

I have a few minutes experience with a petrogen gasoline torch. They are designed for cutting only. Where you have rusty multi layer steel with lots of dirt,or steel with caked on crud and paint and slag in it,nothing works better. Seems I remember that they do not recommend using it for any welding operation. A relative has several units,He runs a rigging company that specalizes in dismantling/moving food processing machines that usually have many years buildup of caked on paint, grease, food on the mounting bolts, and cutting these is where the petrogen torch really excells. Also many cities have strict restrictions on the use/storage of acetlene gas cylinders, yet none on gasoline which they can buy at the nearest gas station.

Google Petrogen and check out their site for more information.
