Hi all

Took a trip today for some combine parts. On the way I found a Owatonna swather that had been converted to a finish mower for sale.

Thinking real hard about it. Only question is What are their weak points? Are parts available?

OK I guess that's two questions but they are close.

Of course the head is a moot point here. Unit has a Ford engine (looks like a 300 six) and is Hydro.

TIA

jt

The Owatonna swather was made by OMC(Owatonna manufacturing co) in Owatonna Mn.In the later years, the co. name changed to Mustang(skid-loaders).Just a few years ago Gehl bought out Mustang, and moved the facility to I beleive S.Dakota.
We've used Owatonna swathers for a long time for cutting hay and small grain crops.Since we bought a haybine,it's used only for small grain.
A very simple and reliabe machine with common bearings, sprockets, engine parts etc.We get parts from Nothland farm systems 507-451-3131 and also have a couple parts machines.
Where are you located? ~brad

I believe Gehl took over Owatonna. If there"s a Gehl dealer near you they could give an opinion on parts.
