Here a while back I sold one a my buddys a tractor. Now he wants to sell it and he figgers that ole Jim don't know what it is worth cause I sold it way too cheap. Tell me what yall think.
1964 International Cub (square grill yeller an white)
with a International series 100 loader
The tractor was bought new by a local feller who used it to clean up around his chicken operation for about 4 or 5 years before he retired.
Then it mostly sat for a while till he died, an I bought it at the estate sale. The old tractor is real nice probly got less than 700 hrs. on it, original tires still on it, motor never been open, never spent a night out side, and with that ol one arm loader it is right unusual. I worked for the old man that owned it part time when I was a school kid, and I was there the day it was delivered brand new with that loader on it. The feller I sold it to put new front tires on it, converted to a 12V alterater, an had it painted with real shiney paint.
Anybody got any good idea how much the market will bear?

I was at an auction in NE Iowa a few weeks ago and they sold two of them. Don't believe that either of them brought 2K. That same auction a really good one-owner TO-35 Ferguson went for $2600, and an ugly but sound Ford 800 diesel went for $1600. Found a nice Massey-Harris 50, mis-marked as a MF50 this morning that the owner's going to price at $2500 after he puts on a new head and new fenders! That one's got me tempted.

Is there a cub worth 10k anywhere? I guess the correct question is "Is there anyone foolish enough to pay 10k for a Cub"?

Don't get me wrong, they are nice tractors, and probably some worth more than 5k, but 10k is one heck of a stretch.

Maybe a gold plated one would be worth that much.

I have an A with the 1000 loader. It's converted to live hyd, has add on cat. one 3 point, 5' belly mower, fork attachment and 1 bottom plow. I use this little gem all the time and even tho mine's not painted up nice, I'd have a hard time selling it for any less than $5,000. Those little 1 arm loaders are very versitile on a small acreage and with either a Cub or A or B under it, they are just what a person needs. I hope the guy gets at least $5,000 or more out of your old one. You sold it way too cheap, I think!

I sold it to him for two reasons, one it may be cute but as far as workin it wouldn't do much for me. An two, he offered $2500.00 cash dollars which doubled my money.
Car, truck, horse, or tractor double my money an it belongs to YOU. He thinks it's worth bout $10,000.00.

I can realate to Fluggie. In my case a paintless D19 that has paid for itself many tmes over, never given me any trouble, and can't be replace for 3-4x what I paid for it.

However, it doesn't make it worth any more money. If I tried to sell it at best I'd get $1500 (not quite double what I paid). Maybe a tad more if I parted it. It isn't going anywhere..... .

I say 2500 was good, doublin your $$ was great. Just a quick look has the tractor alone around 2000. I couldn't find numbers on the loader but would guess 800/1000 tops.

Lot-o-money for a tiny little loader that is only good for loose material (isn't going to be digging nothin). I spe'c that is why he is sellin it. He figered that out and now wants a bigger machine.

Oh, and that's also why it's worth 10 grand, thats what his next one is going to cost him.

Know exactly what you mean about the D19. Except you can replace it... Good ones still don`t bring $2000 at most auctions. More horsepower per dollar than any other tractor around, and there ain`t much they won`t do either. Seems some think they are just too big and others think they ain`t big enough. I see people still willing to pay $3000 or more for those little Ford (Clinto-N) tractors. (real popular, but totally useless)

$10,000??? I think the guy has his head in the clouds. He might get $5,000 out of it, but if he is serious about selling he'll drop the price back down to about what he paid you for it. $10,000 will go a long way toward the price of a new tractor of that size, and would be much more versatile.

You know that is a tough one. I hear guys on here talking about those loaders as being worth $2000. Todays buyer mind set is to buy one of the Kubotas or Deeres. They can charge them for 10 years or so and make payments. There isn't a lot of free cash available to people tehse days. The Cub sounds decent enough, but I would guess a buyer could be found at around $2500 to $3500 for what you are describing. It may take a while though...

Just curious as to why you are searching out this question. I mean, you sold it and then the guy shined it up a bit and now he's selling it. Are you questioning the fact that he shouldn't be selling it or do you think that maybe he's going to be in for a suprise? After the responses, I would hope that you would post both prices that happened down there for us.
