I had my truck up on the ramps changing the oil, greased the chasis etc... I got to wondering about about my rear gas tank which I havn't been able to draw from for the last 3 years or so... I put the rear up on the ramps and took a look. Sure enough, the fuel line got kinked when I put the new tank up, but it must've took a couple months to become fully kinked. I gave it a pull and got it unkinked. I pumped 5 gallons back in it and so far I can drive on it. Some days things just go right....

Must be a Ford with dual tanks. My 96' F-150 has over 400,000 miles on it, and the fuel change over valve took a dump on it last week. Now I'm down to just using the front. Oh well. I don't think the old 4x4 owes me anything...other than maybe just one more Wisconsin winter!

Yup, that's my truck in the background w/ the hay on the tailgate. It's an 88 F150, straight 6, 5 speed stick, 2wd. It's got almost 200,000 miles on it and still doesn't burn mich oil, less than 1 quart per oil change (ussually about 4-5,000 miles) Still got the original clutch oulling 7-8 tons of hay on occasion 20 miles +. Yep, lived a hard life but still keeps on going...

I had to put new tanks on it about 4 years ago after the rear one rusted out, because the front one was already rusted out and leaking. Price wasn't all that bad either. My brother's got a 94 4x4 extended cab w/ the same engine & tranny, but his leaks a lot of oil, and I guess it burns what it doesn't leak. It's right at that 200,000 mile marker too.

My truck is a standard cab, 8 ft box, five speed, 4x4, straight six. With all the miles on it, it still doesn't burn or leak a drop of oil. Runs like a champ. That straight six is as tough as nails...still a lot of them out there running.

Nah, I used a hose to get it out when the price of gas started climbing about 1 1/2 years ago. For the most part it would have been and empty tank before I put in 5 gallons today to try it out. So far so good, I would have pulled 1 gallon out already and it hasn't started chugging yet.

Then I started taking from the farm tank because dad owed me some money anyways... Done that more than once...
