brad: A model number would help. The early 2 point fast hitch mowers, used a different system than later. The rockshaft on mower was connected by a long rod going to touch control rockshaft for Super C and 200 tractors. In that case hitch was not used to lift cutter bar. I have seen setups that had an iron bar clamped to left axle housing, pointing down. Via cable or chain you hooked mower rock shaft to lower end of the iron bar, as the hitch raised, the cable caused bar to lift. I think this was used primarily on 2 point tractors without touch control, and not having the rockshaft under fuel tank. Then you get into the later C-28 mower could be ordered either as 2 point or 3 point I believe all C-28 2 point mowers used what I described in the previous paragraph. The 3 point mower used a pivot device on hitch bar that went under lower link. I think there were 2 or 3 models before the C-28. I'm not familiar with those early models. At home we bought a new mower in 49-50, and were not mower shopping again until 58. By then the C-28 was the new mower. We had neighbors with early models. Near as I can tell the only difference in those fast hitch mowers was the rock shaft lifting device, and a conversion from one to another would be quite easy, I think the mower frame on all are exactly the same. Your best bet would be look at some other mowers, maybe even buy a parts mower. When these were sold new, probably only came with the lift attachment for the farmer's specific tractor.
