I have had this tractor for 6 months, Allways starts good and runs well, I shut it off last week after 2 hours of mowing, when I went back a week later It wont start, got good spark, Got gas plugs are dry, had carb rebult, put in new plugs points & cond, Cap & rotor, cranked it for 20 or 30 seconds, it started once ran for about 10 seconds and died, sounded like it ran out of gas...Can anyone help me with ideas...?? Thanks AL

I agree with the others.. sounds like a no fuel situation.

Check filters, and float / needle.. etc.

If you can squirt some gas into the throat of the carb (like you were priming it), give that a try; if it fires up, and then falters, squirt more in to see if it takes off again. If so, it"s just not getting gas. (This works best with two people, and BE CAREFUL!!-use a little oil squirt can for the gas to avoid setting anyone on fire if it coughs back thru the carb...

Try cleaning the filter screens. One is in the top of the sediment bowl (sticks into the tank), another is in the sediment bowel (flat screen), and there might be a third in the elbow that goes into the carb. You also may have a plugged vent in your tank (try starting it without the gas cap) or you may have injested a "chunkie" into the carb. Sounds fuel related, though!
