Hi Gang;
I know you were all fed up seeing the scenery in Wales, so now that you've suffered, here is the start of some tractor pictures. LoL
Ploughing matches are very popular here and are becoming very competitive.
This is a small local match near Fishguard on Saturday 23rd Sept. Amatures & professionals took part including some youngsters.
More photos of tractors and the ploughs will be posted - hope you all enjoy.
Cheers David

trust me I don't get tired of seeing pictures of the Welsh scenery. Used to chat and email with a lady in Mold (northern Wales) and she used to send me photos of their farm and the area. Always loved looking things over there. Haha she told me one time that the house they lived in was 300 years old, heck that older than my COUNTRY!!!! Keep 'em coming!!!

So, David. I want to reinstate a plowing compitition here in Nebraska but have no idea how to judge the event. Can you give me some ideas? I did witness the South Dakota plowing contest once but it is hard to remember what criteria was judged. I do remember they allowed US built plows only.

Also 53rd World Plowing Matches will be held in Republic of Ireland on 29th an 30th of September (this week) Some of contestants in your photo may plow there. There are about 32 countries represented-not sure of no - but well worth seeing if able.

Hey Stan;
Here is the name of the railway station on Anglesey in North Wales you could'nt pronounce.
Neither can I !!!
This is all one word - no its not a wind-up
LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLLGOGERYCHWYRNDROBWLLLANTYSILIO-GOGOCH.
translated into English:-
St. Mary's Church in the hollow of the white hazel, near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio of the red cave.
I think you will appreciate that Welsh is NOT the easiest language to learn !!! LoL
Cheers David

David,

I sense that you're not a newcomer to Wales...you could not have learned that in just a few weeks.

David,

I love your pictures...they remind me of a rail trip I took from Chester to Holyhead some 21 years ago. On the other hand, it was at night, and I couldn't see a thing. A delightful chap from somewhere in Wales shared our rail car...he had been to a soccer match, had many, many pints, and spoke perfect Welsh...we couldn't unterstand much, but he got off the train at that town with about 100 letters in the name. He then had a three mile walk to his home. I surely hope he made it home that night.

Stan

David,

I know that "odd" in King's English means "occasional" in U.S. "English". But, are not all David Browns sort of odd? LOL

Just kidding...the ones I've seen are cool.

Stan
