OK, I am dying on the vine with this question. Crawler board moves like a slow race. Farmall board got me nothin. Anyone here.....anyone at all....care to speculate on possible causes for an old (start on gas, switch to diesel) international engine that would lose power after warming up? Any possible hidden hugely expensive repairs lurking there or is it likely something simple? Sure could use some guidance. Only have one diesel around the place and it never breaks down so I have never had to fix it.

I had the screen in a sediment bowl plug nearly solid on my IH 660. Filters were still fine.

That's a good thought. It has a sediment bowl on the gas tank. Don't know if there is one on the diesel tank cause I didn't look. He never moved it until after he switched it over to diesel so it has to be in the diesel fuel system if it is, in fact, a fuel problem. Won't know anything until I get her hauled home. Darned thing is sitting in a field 20 miles from here. Can't haul a 5 ton tractor myself so the local excavator is gonna go get it first of the week.

Also to add to what I said. Clogged fuel filters will also cause that problem

It is funny you say that! I was just telling the wife on the way back from looking at this thing that there were some pretty basic reasons engines do what they do and it could maybe be that it was starving for fuel...maybe clogged fuel injectors?
Fella says he changed all the filters...AFTER it started losing power. Anyway, it was a gamble and it was $1500 but I am now the happy owner of an International TD-6 with an original IH/Bucyrus bullgrader on the front. Just got to get the juice back in it. Appreciate the help!
