Check the oil pressure right at the fitting on the block, with a spare gauge, to rule out a (nearly) clogged line, or a bad gauge.

If you get the same results there, QUIT running it until you can drop the oil pan, and check for a loose oil pickup tube and/or excessive play in the oil pump shaft bushings, or gear and/or housing wear.

If it really isn't oiling for "a couple of minutes" upon startup, you're gonna KILL it, if you keep running it that way.

go to the 8n board of this site lots of people with good info on 8n's.They may tell you that your pick up tube for the pump is loose and needs to be rebrazed.

Before you get all inot the engine make sure the guage ain't slow. Get a Auto Zone cheapy and test it against yours. They ain't rugged or durable, but they're pretty accurate.
Still a problem--check for a clogged oil intake screen. If pressure will come to specs-even if slow-then it prolly ain't your pump.
