Where I work we drive FL 70 Freightliners. When I went to work in 1997 we had one Ford, one FL 60, and One FL 70 all with the 5.9 and 5 speeds we had no trouble except with the Ford and it had to be OH ed. The next trucks had the C cummins with 6 speeds, we had a lot of trouble with them. Now we have Cats, and we have had a lot if trouble with the older ones the two new ones haven't caused any. These are Ryder Leased Trucks and we put 400,000 on them.

I currently run 3 of those trucks with a 5.9 and a 6-speed transmission. I have had pretty good luck with them. I replaced a head on 1 this year. Don't expect an overabundance of power.
