I have seen post on here before concerning the scams run from overseas where the "personal assistant" shows up with the cashiers check and they expect you to cash it and give them the extra. Thanks to the people who have posted to warn sellers. I have had that happen to me just this week and I recognized it as a scam due to the warnings I have read from people on this site. For that I say thank you. The sorry thing about it was first contact was made using a service for a deaf or mute person. This may have happened to some of you but I thought how sorry that was. I am sure it is used to cover for the inability to speak english. My question would be is there any place or person to report this activity to? Thanks again and keep your guard up!!!

Case: Personally I tend to get a bit tired of all these warnings. I think I've known since I was about 5 years old, you never need your wallet or check book when selling something. Time for some of you folks to grow up.

Harley: Definitely not, actually you are one of the few people that treat these scams as they should be treated, with a great deal of humor.

My point is most folks over 5 years of age should see them for what they are and treat them much the same as you do. My discust is not with the scams, but rather the folks that think we on these forums need warning and protection from the scams. These warnings are little more than an insult to the average adult's intelligence. If everyone treated scams as you do, they would soon disappear.

I can well imagine a scam artist sitting back, reading this kind of discussion, and saying to himself, if the American public are really this naive, "What a heyday we can have." You just keep on poking fun at the scammers, I enjoy it.

I heard on the news the preacher's wife who shot her husband in Tennesse a few months ago had fallen prey to one of those scams and was a contributing factor in her husband's death.

The service for deaf people is one of the main methods used by scammers. I think you can report the scammers to the FBI or something but there is little chance any thing can be done. We just need to learn to watch out for ourselves. If it looks and sounds to good to be true, then most likely it is a scam.

Speaking of scams guys, I"ve bid on a couple of tractors in the past couple of weeks and didn"t get them, but after both of them went off and were bought by someone, I got the old second chance shuffle on the look-a-like ebay format only the reply was an email address with yahoo.com. Ya right, I"m gonna get a $10,000.00 tractor for $1850.00 that I bid. I hadn"t gotten these for awhile but here lately I"m getting them again. Buyer beware. It"s not ebay or the sellers doing this but some low life third party. Just an up front for everybody. Harley
