Here's a new country song by a fella named Jason Aldean on Broken Bow Records. Enjoy!

He gets up before the dawn
Packs a lunch and a thermos full of coffee
It's another day in the dusty haze
Those burnin' rays are wearing down his body
And diesel's worth the price of gold
And it's the cheapest grain he's ever sold
But he's still holding on

CHORUS
He just takes the tractor another round
And pulls the plow across the ground
And sends up another prayer
He says Lord I never complain I never ask why
But please don't let my dream run dry
Underneath, Underneath this
Amarillo sky

That hail storm back in '83
Sure did take a toll on his family
But he stayed strong and carried on
Just like his dad and grandad did before him
On his knees every night he prays
Please let my crops and children grow
Cause that's all he's ever known

CHORUS
He just takes the tractor another round
And pulls the plow across the ground
And sends up another prayer
He says Lord I never complain I never ask why
But please don't let my dream run dry
Underneath, Underneath this
Amarillo sky

And he takes the tractor another round
Another round, another round
And he takes the tractor another round
Another round
He says I never complain I never ask why
But please don't let my dreams run dry
Underneath, underneath this
Amarillo Sky

Underneath this
Amarillo sky

Yeah sometimes new songs come out at different times in different parts of the country. I've been hearing this one for a few weeks I suppose.

Sure makes me miss my Dad's farm right about now... been 5 weeks since I was home, I don't like this city life - but it pays the bills. Someday when the bills are paid off, I'll go back and enjoy a simple life on the farm. :'

Yep, try sleeping after you buy a new combine and old one is traded off and sold and then your crop gets hailed out before you get to use new one. Hey, I get to Amarillo now and then. :)

I've been wondering...was there a hailstorm in '83? I figured you'd be the guy to ask.

Could have been? I'm not remembering 83 but one I'm remembering was fall of 78 and another summer of 89 and another bad one in fall of 98 and probably more I don't want to remember? lol.

I was living in Eastern New Mexico from Aug 93 to Dec 97 and from Jan 03 to Sep 05. Seems to me I recall some serious hail damage during the summer of 2004. LOL, if the boss lady has her way, when my time's up in Abilene I'll be living in the area again about three years. Anybody know what land/small farms are selling for in the Panhandle near Friona, Muleshoe, or etc. ? In order for me to stay up there and be happy and try to keep her happy, I may have to get me a small piece of property to play on.
