I have a Case A1 series tractor that is working but not charging the 6 volt battery and within 24 hours goes dead.

We have had the alternator and generator checked.

I also have a basic question... I notice on 6 volt wiring systems for other tractors that Positive side of the terminal of the batter is going to a ground. and the Negative side of the battery is going to the starter - Can someone please explain.

Thanks

Michael, Many, especially 6 volt, older tractors used Positive ground the same as Ford n Chrysler autos in the early years. You say you had the alternator and generator checked????? Which is it??? If its a Generator I can post a troubleshooting procedure. Does it have an ammeter??
