Well Heck!

Some days ya win and some days ya just plain lose. Today, I lost. $380 to be exact. :>(

Dropped the oil, which took all of 4 or 5 minutes. Got out my trusty air gun and pulled the pump. Another minute and a half.

All is going well I thought.

Whoops!!! Look a little closer at the last two pictures. :>(

If it's just an O ring and gasket you can't complain. When I first looked at the pic I thought a hunk of iron was gone. That would suck.

Well Allan while you got it off take it and have the pressure checked, you might want to replace it anyway. I hope you can take it back. If not they have a site on here that will help you.

Oh Heck No,

I'm putting in the new one since I already have it.

However, I could have saved the price of that pump if I'd have taken it apart first, but I live so darned far out in the boonies that I kinda like to have things ready to go right back together rather than having to wait a week for parts.

No big deal; now it's gonna pump 17 gmp rather than the factory 12, plus I'll have a spare in case I need one in a hurry some day. :>)

Well, as long as you have the pump off you might as well pull the cover off the pump just to make sure everything is tight as it should be in it.

Looks like his gasket ripped too, a piece of it is still stuck on it.

Yes Sir,

Both the gasket and o-ring are missing a chunk right at the same spot on the pressure side. No wonder that old sister was "singing" the way is was. :>)

And so it goes,

Allan

go to town, get the o-ring that is bad, and then put it back to gether. if it works, return the pump and get a refund.

some times it pays to take it apart first and try to find the problem and then order parts.

i have done this too.
