Not sure if this will do any good, but it cant hurt, I bought a John Deere G Split Pedistal at the Lesuer Minnesota Pioneer Power Auction this past friday 8-25-06, It was freshly painted and ready to bolt on, I went to load it up today 8-26-06 and it was gone, I searched the whole auction lot site, looked in the backs of trucks, under trucks, trailers, and its gone. Any Help in finding this piece would be appreciated. Just when you thought you could trust someone. I guess I learned my lesson for thinking there was still honest people out there.

Not sure how to tell you how to check but the seller may have pulled it and the auction on purpose or by mistake collected your money anyway, I have seen that happen more then once. Good luck and I hope it was just an honest misstake and you get at the least your money back.

Seems it happens a lot at auctions... They say they are strict about security, but it seems they just check the honest buyers. I hate to be so cynical, but often I wonder is some of the auction personnel are the ones that take stuff. Last year, I bought some industrial machinery at an auction, by the time the riggers got there several days later, some accessories had been removed from one machine. It had to take at least an hour to remove them. I told the auction Co, that we needed to call in the police to find out who stole the parts. They wanted no part of that, but they did sort of make it up by giving me a lot of items that did not get sold. They also let me load up a lot of scrap aluminum, that brought good money...

I think that the auction company must take some responsibility to ensure that anything taken from the lot is done so in honest fashion. I don't mean 1 week after the auction but at least for the day of the auction and perhaps the next day, the person removing any item should have to register in with their driver's licence and vehicle registration before leaving the site and all items must be checked off and a receipt shown.

Thieves are in every crowd. Best way after you buy something is to pay for it and get it out of there quick, but I know it doesn't always work that way and sometimes its just not possible for various reasons. If you leave something there, no doubt it will be played with, and possibly sabotaged or stolen by other auction goers, there is some real slime out there in the public.

I understand how you feel. The best thing you can do now is spread the word. Get the message out to as many auctioneers as possible, and watch for it on eBay. I'll do my part by watching the consignment auctions around here.
