Bore da - good morning in Welsh

24% of the population in this County of Pembrokeshire speak Welsh as their 1st language. We are going to sign up for Welsh lessons (!)

This shepherd performs with his sheep dog(s) at shows herding sheep around through gates & into a pen. He also has one dog which herds ducks in the same way - the kids love it. Aint country life wonderful !
Cheers David

David: This is something we "Colonials"can only relate to if we have been inspired by the works of John Wight otherwise known as "James Herriot" and other writers of that time. Many on this side of the Pond were thourghly entertained when PBS and BBC put some of his works on Public TV a few years ago. Sadly he is gone and the work your Picture illustrates disappeared from the farm scene here many years ago. I/We enjoy your posts very much. Keep em coming John

James Herriot sure is a good read. I came along too late to see the shows on PBS but I bet I would've loved them.

Awesome photo. Good luck learning welsh. It is such a musical language. I was in Wales last summer touring some of the castels built by Edward. In a small pasteria outside the castle where the prince of wales is crowned (carlick I think), the ladies behind the counter were taking orders in Welsh and English at the same time without missing a beat.
