Re: ford 600 HEY DAISY- I HAVE THE PLATE YOU NEED in reply to daisy, 08-20-2006 07:59:41
hey daisy, i could really use that pump that you are going to take off. my ford 850 has the plate you need on it. mine has a front pump that was used for a loader that i no longer have. i want to put a front blade on mine, but the pump is in the way. maybe we could work out a deal on your pump, then you could have my blocking plate. shoot me a email ppl79@sbcglobal.net i am in michigan. thanks,,,perry

All of the comments are good and will work, but if you want to just fix the hyd.line in the transmission it is semplier than trying to remove the pump.check the ford forem on how to repair the tube or let me know and I will try to walk you through it.I repaired one on a 900 and it seemes to be working fine.

While on first thought it seams like a good idea; you may want to think this threw a bit.

The PTO shifter; shaft; and the drive line are in the hyd compartment. They need to be lubed.

If you take the pump off you will also expose a hole in the side of the block where oil will leak out.

Now if you were inclined to do so I guess you could remove the pump and make a block off plate for the engine; and hyd lines. Then you could fill both the hyd compartment and trans with hyd oil and just let it level out between the two.

I could be wrong but I think your Ford uses hydralic oil in transmition and rear end.

IIRC, it uses hydraulic oil in the HYDRAULICS (middle compartment), and transmission.

The extreme rear, differential housing, uses 90-weight gear oil.

It's your tractor... there's no technical reason you can't do what you are proposing, if that's what you want.

Isn't your tach driven from the back of the pump, though?

Hi bob Thanks for your reply , the tack has`nt worked since i had the tractor , so if that is all that will be affected i`ll just remove the old pump all together and refill the tranny and rear differental with oil , is 80 90 the gear oil you would recommend ? Thanks again Jim
