I've got a Arctic Cat 400 thats gonna be in need of some new tires shortly. I've gotten excellent usage out of the Titan AT489's that came on it. I've been considering buying the same thing or the AT589's. Any suggestions?? Did Titan and Carlyle merge or did one buy the other?? If so, are they still a good tire?? Thanks
Casey

I'm with the post below. Get some 6 ply tires. You'll have a lot less flats and they will last a longer too.

I have ITP tires on the front and I believe dirt devils on the back.

My problem with ATV tires are bushhogged sprouts. The original tires were 2 ply and the replacements are 6 ply. The 6 ply tires are much, much better in the sprouts. I constantly had flats with the 2 ply tires and almost entirely eliminated them with thte 6 ply tires.

I will need a new ATV in a couple of years and will have 6 ply tires installed new to eliminate the problem.

I have run Dunlop ATV tires on both 3 and 4 wheelers, and they are tough tires...and made in the USA which is a nice thing.

I have a Yamaha Big Bear 400 with ITP mudlites on it. I really like these tires, but I do alot of riding in mud with this atv. I also have a Honda Recon 250 with stock Goodyear tires, and it does very well with those tires on. Not sure about Titan tires, but I've heard good things about Carlisle tires. Sorry, I haven't heard anything about a merger between those two companies.

Yes, Titan bought out Carlisle a few years ago. I have had good luck the the Titan ATV tires from the sellers viewpoint, which means that people who use them don"t come back and say they hated them. They seem to be better than the Carlisle branded ones. Which is hard for me to say since I don"t like Titan tires.

I would also be curious to know why you don't like Titan tires. I don't like them either. I've had a couple sets that came on new equipment, and I've found in both cases that they were just a cheap nasty tire with poor casings. I would not buy one under any circumstance. Now, the ATV tires, I have no idea about. I didn't know Titan made an ATV tire. I still wouldn't rush out to try one. The last ATV tires I had were the Duro Excavator's. I found they were tough, didn't ride too bad, and wore pretty good. They had a pile of traction too. They wern't cheap to buy though....

I use Titans on my skidloader. What don't you like about them? Should I consider a different brand?
